Mr. Wagner began teaching at Nordhoff High School in 1988. Under his leadership, the music department has flourished and has been recognized as one of the top comprehensive small school music programs in the state of California. 

Mr. Wagner attended Hollywood High School and after two years at California Lutheran College he transferred to Oberlin College and graduated in 1985 from the Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor Degree in Trumpet Performance and Masters Degree in Music Education.

After college Mr. Wagner worked for International Music Festivals in Michigan for four years before returning to California to pursue teaching music.

Mr. Wagner is one of four children. An older brother Bob (professional bassoonist with the New Jersey Symphony), older sister Lynne and younger sister, Joy.

Mr. Wagner is choir director and a member or the Praise Band at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ventura.

He is married to Anna Wagner who works as a fundraiser for the Ojai Music Festival and is proud dad to daughter, Charlotte and dog, Charley.
